The Pralympic Games

OK, so, the prices for the Paralympic games have been announced.

More than half of the two million tickets for the London 2012 Paralympics will cost £10 or less, organisers of the Games have announced.
More than 95% of tickets – for the 20 sports – will cost £50 or less, and 75% will be £20 or below, London 2012 said.
Opening and closing ceremony tickets start at £20.12 and go up to £500.
More than 4,200 athletes from 150 nations will take part in the Games from 29 August to 9 September 2012. Applications open in September.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games said prices start at £10 for adults and £5 for anyone aged 16 or under and 60 or over on 29 August 2012, when the spectacle begins.

I think these prices are great, I hope it encourages plenty of people to go, people who were not sure before etc.

My sporting recommendations are,

  • Swimming – Swimming is great, Paralympic swimming is no different, don’t worry about all the classes, just sit back and enjoy
  • Wheelchair Basketball – my sport, it is fast, rough and highly skilled, a must see for anyone
  • Wheelchair Rugby – yes, you read correctly, rugby, it is rough, hard hitting, you’ll love it
  • Judo – I just find this impressive, every time I see it, blind Judo is just amazing, you would never know they are blind, they could probably beat on any of us

I really hope many of you apply for tickets, these games do not get as much publicity or support. But they really need it, they deserve it, they work just as hard. I believe you would enjoy what you watch.
